What is going on with Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill?

Both players had forgettable 2025 seasons. In September, Hill suffered a gruesome leg injury against the Jets. The Miami Dolphins WR had successful surgery for a severely dislocated left knee with multiple torn ligaments, including his ACL. His season was done.

In December, Patrick Mahomes suffered a devastating knee injury against the Chargers. The Kansas City Chiefs QB had surgery to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee.

On X, Patrick Mahomes posted two pictures of himself on the field. One picture showed him walking off with his head down. The second was of him scoring a rushing touchdown against the Jaguars. He posted a clock emoji for the caption.

Tyreek Hill would also post two pictures. Both of them were of him screaming with and without his helmet on. He put “Loading,” as his caption.

“Posted within 20 minutes of each other…,” an X account wrote. It is seemingly suggesting that the two players could play alongside each other again.

Patrick Mahomes & Tyreek Hill Could Benefit From Hooking Up Again

The Chiefs and Dolphins are poised for significant changes this offseason. Missing the playoffs for the first time in 10 years was already bad enough for Kansas City. Then, they lost Mahomes to a torn ACL to cap off a weird season.

Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins were never a good team to begin with. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has regressed, and Mike McDaniel might be fired. A full rebuild may be implemented soon. That could lead to assets being sold off.

Hill was traded by the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. Both he and Patrick Mahomes could benefit from being teammates again. Especially since Travis Kelce might be retiring this offseason.

It remains to be seen what the Chiefs would give up for him. Given the timeline for Mahomes’ injury, they wouldn’t be playing together for very long in 2026.

Mahomes is aiming to return for the start of the 2026 season. Andy Reid provided an update on Mahomes’ rehab process via Charles Goldman.

Reid revealed that Mahomes will remain in Kansas City throughout his recovery and said, “He’s been in there grinding…Right now, he’s in that early process where you’ve got to hit it hard.”

This season, Mahomes completed 62.7% of his passes for 3,587 yards. He also had 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
