Patrick Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., has made an embarrassing confession about the altercation he had with John Rocker on Bourbon Street last week.
The senior Mahomes was questioned by police about his trip to New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX, given that he was placed on probation after pleading guilty to a DWI charge.
While he was given permission to travel to watch his son play, authorities wanted to know more after he was recorded getting rowdy with Rocker, having also missed a urine test on February 11.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the former MLB player admitted that the incident was staged as a means of getting publicity for an upcoming celebrity boxing match set for April.
Barstool Sports also reports that a ‘Rough N Rowdy’ contract was attached to the court documents.
Mahomes Sr. took the urine test on February 12 and, per said documents, it came back negative.
“A judge merely told him an application to revoke his probation could be filed if he slips up again going forward,” TMZ notes.
Fans had been wondering whether the altercation with Rocker, another former MLB player, was real, as it was already known that they had agreed to spar.
Mahomes is reportedly set to make $85,000 for his participation but could earn a lot more if the event does well with Pay-Per-View.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback did not comment on the altercation, but Rocker has claimed that Mahomes and his people are “doing EVERYTHING in their power to try and pull Pat Sr out of this fight.”
