Eagles and Chiefs players met with the media with just three days until Super Bowl 59, and Patrick Mahomes only had good things to say about Jalen Hurts:
Asked Patrick Mahomes why Jalen Hurts is still doubted.
“I honestly have no idea. It doesn’t make any sense to me. He goes out there and has success every single year.
“When you look at his career. All he does is win…I honestly do not understand it.” #Eagles #Chiefs pic.twitter.com/YhaDzI9XpK

Mahomes is spot on, and it’s pretty funny when you compare the guys who speak highly of Hurts to the guys who continue to doubt him. The legends of the game respect him and think he’s a great player, while the backup quarterbacks that get jobs in the national media continue to question him, no matter what he does.
Listen, I get it. If we’re talking skill… sure, guys like Joe Burrow and Josh Allen are ahead of Hurts. But do you want guys that are the best of the best and continue to come up short, or a guy like Jalen Hurts who is now 46-20 as a starter in his career, and has now found himself in the Super Bowl for the 2nd time in two years? That’s up to you, and I’m not here to debate that. But I like winners, and that’s exactly what Jalen Hurts is.
This isn’t the first time Mahomes has praised Hurts. He praised the Eagles quarterback before and after Super Bowl 57, and now back on the big stage. He said after Super Bowl 57 that the doubt shouldn’t be there anymore for Jalen, and that he proved what he can do two years ago.
It’s no surprise that a guy who continues to win football games will find his way back to the Super Bowl, and that’s Jalen Hurts. To get the level of praise that he’s received from a guy like Patrick Mahomes, who is on pace to be the best player in the history of the sport? That’s pretty good. Now let’s beat him on Sunday.
