Panthers Reacts Survey Week 9: Let’s talk about Dave Canales
Cat Scratch Reader Cat Scratch Reader

Nobody really expected to beat the Buffalo Bills last week. But a lot of us thought that maybe the Carolina Panthers could look competitive against them, even with the venerable Andy Dalton under center (Happy Birthday, buddy!). What we saw instead was so disheartening and played so directly against the established identity and strengths of the our favorite team that we all walked away with some deeply existential questions about the Carolina Panthers.

We’re going to start with our standard confidence poll. Once again, this is not a question asking if you think the Panthers will win this weekend against the Green Bay Packers. This is a question asking about your opinion about the long term prospects of the franchise as a whole. Think of it as a referendum on the leadership of general manager Dan Morgan and head coach Dave Canales.

That said, we’re also asking more directly about your opinion on the future of Dave Canales. Sunday was far from his best work. And weaknesses that we’ve all noticed and complained about on, perhaps, a smaller scale were magnified and stretched into game breaking flaws by our old friend Sean McDermott.

The questions are fairly self-explanatory. Let’s see how we feel about Canales’ future in Charlotte and why. Feel free to talk about it in the comments. Remember, talking about sports online is cheaper than therapy. I make no promises as to its efficacy, however.

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Panthers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
