The Buffalo Bills entered their bye week on a two-game losing streak that included disappointing losses to the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. Quarterback Josh Allen and company now have to try and get back on track in Week 8, but their opponent has been on a bit of an unexpected win streak.
The Carolina Panthers improved to 4-3 on Sunday, thanks to a 13-6 victory over the New York Jets. While it may not have been pretty, it was the third victory in a row for the Panthers. Sunday’s victory marked the first three-game win streak for quarterback Bryce Young, who left the game late in the third quarter with an ankle injury. Backup quarterback Andy Dalton finished the game for the Panthers. It’s too soon to know who will start for Carolina on Sunday, so monitoring injury reports will be key all week.
A bright spot for the Panthers on Sunday came from wide receiver Xavier Legette, who had nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. It was arguably the best game of Legette’s career, who the Panthers traded up for with the Bills in the 2024 draft to select him as the last pick in Round 1. It’s safe to say that Bills Mafia will be monitoring Legette’s performance as it compares to fellow wide receiver Keon Coleman next Sunday afternoon.
So while the Bills look to bounce back on Sunday, the Panthers are arguably one of the hottest teams in football. Can Buffalo bring an end to the Panthers’ surprising win streak?
