The Green Bay Packers are going to be without wide receiver Jayden Reed for a considerable amount of time after the third-year receiver underwent surgery to repair a broken clavicle and Jones fracture in his foot.
Reed sustained in the injury in what at first appeared to be a touchdown catch against the Commanders on Thursday Night Football but the TD was wiped off the board due to a holding penalty. He was injured at the end of the play.
Following Tuesday’s successful surgeries to repair his foot and clavicle, Jayden Reed did the only sensible thing and hopped on Instagram Live to hype up the Green Bay Packers while still appearing loopy from the surgery. Reed said “Packers to the Bowl, bruh. We turnt! We going all the f—— way” before signing off.

On X (formerly Twitter), ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported “Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed wound up undergoing surgery Tuesday on both a broken clavicle and a Jones fracture in his left foot. “Successful foot & clavicle surgery thank you God,” Reed posted on social media. He now is out indefinitely.”
Following the game, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur addressed the injury. He didn’t sugar coat it at all, saying “he’s going to miss a lot of time We’ll see how fast he can recover and heal and certainly I would expect him back at some point this season, but obviously it’s a big blow to us.”
Jayden Reed was Jordan Love’s top target in 2024 and 2023, with 857 and 793 receiving yards respectively during the regular seasons. Reed only had 6 receiving TDs last season despite having 857 yards and playing in all 17 regular season games.
This is a huge blow for the Green Bay Packers’ offense when Jordan Love has looked to be one of the best starting quarterbacks in the league this season.
