Behold your new king: Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks is the Week 13 NVP. For those of you who aren’t hip, NVP stands for Nickelodeon Valuable Player and is awarded on their weekly Slime Time show, hosted by Nate Burleson and Dylan “Young Dylan” Gilmer.

Wicks gained this great honor by catching 6 of 7 passes for 94 yards and 2 TDs on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions. That gave Wicks a Receiving EPA of +10.8, the highest mark in the league this week (per NFL Pro). Wicks is also credited for 1 rushing attempt (on a lateral) for 6 yards, bringing his total yardage to a cool 100 yards.

All 6 of his receptions were marked as successful plays (50%+ of yards needed on 1st/2nd down, 100%+ of yarded needed on 3rd/4th down). The Packers offense had 7 explosive plays through the air on Thanksgiving (gains of 16+ yards) and Wicks accounted for 4 of those, with two coming on 4th down and one on 3rd down.

Wicks was on the receiving end of my favorite passing design of the week, running a Sluggo off an Arches concept for 30 yards. I broke that play down earlier this week if you’re interested.

Wicks is the first Packers player to win the NVP this season. In fact, he’s the first Packers player to win the NVP since Jordan Love won it for his performance against the Cardinals in Week 6 of 2024.

As a faithful viewer of Slime Time, I want to say congrats to Dontayvion Wicks. And Nickelodeon, if you want to throw a couple of those slime helmets and/or chains my way, I wouldn’t hate it. You know. For the kids.
