Packers Week 18 Winners and Losers: The Regular Season Finale

THE GAME IS OVER; YOU CAN ALL WAKE UP NOW. The regular season is officially over for the 9-7-1 Green Bay Packers after a 16-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. It was a snooze-fest of a game, as the majority of starters sat in preparation for the playoffs next week. Folks, this is going to be a quick one, because it doesn’t feel fair to name losers in a game where the Packers were just trying to escape without losing anyone else to injury (they failed). Without further ado, here are the winners and Emanuel Wilsons from the Packers’ final game of the 2025 regular season.

Winner: Daniel Whelan

With 41 punts coming into today’s game, Whelan hasn’t been needed much by the Packers this season. His season-high for punts in a game was 5, and he matched that number today before halftime. In total, he punted 8 times for 431 yards. He had a BOOMING 68-yarder in the first half, his longest punt of the year. He pinned the Vikings inside the 20 five times. Hats off to our Irish prince.

Winner: Barryn Sorrell

One of my favorite draft picks of the year, Barryn Sorrell, has seen limited playing time in 13 games in his debut season, due in part to injury. Each time he sees the field, though, he puts in maximum effort, and Sunday’s game in Minnesota was no exception. He was nothing but a disruptor against the Vikings’ offense, and made some huge stops, including one that forced a fourth-down punt. He also notched the first solo sack of his career, as well as a fumble recovery. Sorrell has the potential to be a really special player for the Packers, and we should get to see a lot more of him soon after the expected departure of Rashan Gary this offseason.

Winner: Collin Oliver

In his first-ever NFL game after battling through a hamstring injury that required surgery, Collin Oliver showed us why some players in the locker room call him “Baby Micah”. He looked hungry for the quarterback today and applied some heavy pressure, which forced J.J. McCarthy to get rid of the ball fast. When Micah Parsons went down with a torn ACL this season, the defense lost its spark. In an otherwise lackluster football game, Collin Oliver and Barryn Sorrell showed us that all may not be completely lost just yet.

Emanuel Wilson: Emanuel Wilson

I said there would be no losers, so today he is just Emanuel Wilson.

Loser: Our Eyeballs

No human being should be subjected to reading the words “Clayton Tune takes the field for his second career start.” I want my emotional support Jordan Love back.

The playoffs begin next week with the Wild Card round, and, at the time of publishing, the 7-seed Packers are set to take on either the Philadelphia Eagles or Chicago Bears, two teams they’ve already faced off against this year. With a ton of injuries on both sides...
