Packers vs. Giants Final Injury Report: Lukas Van Ness questionable

The Green Bay Packers don’t have many injury question marks going into Sunday’s Week 11 action against the New York Giants. On Friday, the team officially ruled out cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), which was expected. Beyond that, though, Green Bay only has three players who were listed as questionable going into the game.

The players were receiver Matthew Golden (shoulder), receiver Savion Williams (foot) and defensive end Lukas Van Ness (foot). Both Golden and Van Ness missed last week’s action, while Williams played through his foot injury against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Golden and Williams have been limited participants throughout the week, while Van Ness, who has been out for the last month, was a non-participant in the Packers’ Wednesday walkthrough. Van Ness practiced with the team for the first time in over a month on Thursday, earning back-to-back limited participations in practice this week. When healthy, Van Ness is the team’s third defensive end behind Micah Parsons and Rashan Gary.

The Giants’ side of the injury report is much bigger this week.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart (concussion), receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring), guard Eval Neal (hamstring), linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder) and linebacker Chauncey Golston (neck) have all already been ruled out. Those players alone take New York’s 53-man roster to 48, the number of players on gameday rosters.

Beyond those five, defensive tackle Rakeem Nunez-Roches (toe) and safety Tyler Nubin (neck) have been listed as doubtful by the Giants. Neither has practiced at all this week. Two more, linebacker Bobby Okereke (shoulder) and cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee), are listed as questionable going into the game.

So don’t be surprised if New York makes two practice squad callups just to get to a full 48-man gameday roster this week. If the questionable players aren’t able to play, the Giants will need to make moves on the 53-man roster just to get to 48 healthy players, even with two practice-squad callups.
