Starting S Evan Williams and LB Quay Walker are active vs. Philadelphia

After being listed as questionable coming into the weekend, the Green Bay Packers will have starting linebacker Quay Walker (ankle), starting safety Evan Williams (quad), contributing defensive tackle T.J. Salton (ankle) and contributing defensive end Brenton Cox Jr. (foot) versus the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Walker and Williams have both missed multiple weeks of action, so the Packers’ defense should get a significant boost.

With Walker taking over the middle linebacker position, replacement starter Eric Wilson should be sidelined for most of the game. Williams will displace rookie Kitan Oladapo, who started last week’s game, and should keep Javon Bullard in the slot. With Bullard inside, Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine are expected to play the bulk of the snaps at outside cornerback this week.

Because the Packers did not elevate players from the practice squad this week, they only have five inactives: quarterback Sean Clifford, receiver Christian Watson (knee), safety Zayne Anderson (concussion), tackle Andre Dillard (concussion) and tight end Ben Sims. Clifford and Sims are the only healthy scratches on the team, though, Clifford was designated as Green Bay’s third quarterback — so Clifford would be allowed to enter the game if both Jordan Love and Malik Willis exit with an injury.

The Eagles will be without quarterback Tanner McKee, receiver Ainias Smith, offensive lineman Nick Gates, offensive lineman Darian Kinnard, offensive lineman Trevor Keegan, defensive back Eli Ricks and defensive back Lewis Cine. Keegan was the only player who was listed on Philadelphia’s injury report, as he’s dealing with an illness. The rest of the players are healthy scratches.
