After an impressive week one win, the Green Bay Packers are back on the field early for their week two contest. The team had no time to spend celebrating a 27-13 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday thanks to the NFL’s schedule-makers, who set them up for a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Washington Commanders this evening on just three days’ rest.
That will be a quick turnaround for all of the Packers’ players, but particularly their newest addition, Micah Parsons. The pass-rusher will have been in Green Bay for exactly two weeks as of tonight’s game, and he will likely still have his snaps limited to some extent in this game due to his minimal time absorbing the playbook. However, he recorded a whopping 4.5 sacks in just two games against the Commanders last season, which should give Packers fans hope that he will make another big impact tonight.
Meanwhile, the Commanders are also 1-0 after a week one divisional win, with theirs coming over the moribund New York Giants early on Sunday afternoon. The Giants put up just six points in a lumbering loss to Washington, failing to impress — or to give the rest of the league a good barometer on just how good the Commanders can be this season.
That will be a better task for the Packers, at least based on their week one performance. Tune in for tonight’s game and keep it here at Acme Packing Company for updates throughout the contest this evening!
