After a 2-0 start and a long week off since last Thursday’s game, the Green Bay Packers are back in action today as they take their first road trip of the season. Hosting them in week three are the Cleveland Browns, who have dropped back-to-back divisional games to start their season 0-2.
The Browns and Packers have not met one another in nearly four years, last playing on Christmas Day 2021. That game saw the Packers record four interceptions off then-Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, with Chandon Sullivan, Darnell Savage, and Rasul Douglas (who had two) in on the action.
The Green Bay roster looks vastly different now than it did that day, however. In fact, only one member of the starting lineup in that game — on either side of the football — remains on the team. That player is Rashan Gary, who had his breakout season that year. Gary has 2.5 sacks in two games so far this year, benefiting significantly from the addition of Micah Parsons to this year’s squad.
Let’s see if Gary and the Packers can put up another big performance today against an offense that is significantly less impressive on paper than the ones they have stymied in the first two games of the season.
