New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs’ injury recovery has been nothing short of remarkable — and people are taking notice.

Diggs, 31, needed just nine months to return to practice following an ACL tear he suffered against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 27, 2024, which is widely viewed as the minimum amount of time an athlete should avoid returning to full-speed play.

It’s the kind of timeline you just don’t see, which is why Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson reached out to the veteran in hopes to gain insight into the process as a whole.

“I talked to Stefon Diggs about his recovery process,” Watson said on Wednesday, per WFRV’s Cameron Ezeir. “I trained down in (Davie, Fla.) with the same people he was rehabbing with, and that went really well. I talked to him when I was first getting into the process, because it obviously was going really smooth for him, so I just picked his brain a little bit.”

Watson, 26, tore the same ligament more than two months later, so although he believes he’s ahead of schedule in his recovery, there’s little hop he’ll be ready to return by the start of the season. The Packers are just hoping he can follow a similar timeline to that of the accomplished veteran he tried to get advice from.
