Packers Snap Counts vs. Broncos: Darian Kinnard takes over at right tackle

There were a bunch of injuries against the Denver Broncos, including Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson and defensive end Micah Parsons. With so many moving parts, it might have been hard to keep track of who was playing where. Let’s go position-by-position and break down how the Packers’ rotations actually worked on Sunday.

Quarterbacks

  • Jordan Love: 63 snaps
  • Malik Willis: 0

Jordan Love had a well below average game for his standards against a tough defense, posting just a 68.3 passer rating against the Broncos. Somehow, though, the game was still close on the offense’s final drive, so Malik Willis never had to be inserted in garbage time.

Running Backs

  • Josh Jacobs: 34
  • Chris Brooks: 17 (14 SPT)
  • Emanuel Wilson: 12 (6 SPT)

Both Josh Jacobs (knee swelling) and Emanuel Wilson (illness) came into Sunday with questionable statuses, but they ended up suiting up against Denver. Chris Brooks is starting to chip away at Wilson’s playing time, which is relevant with a MarShawn Lloyd decision on the horizon. If the Packers don’t activate Lloyd to the 53-man roster next week, they’ll have to shut down the 2024 third-round pick for the remainder of the season, meaning that Lloyd will have played just one game in two full seasons as a professional. It’s going to be hard for Green Bay to keep four running backs on the roster, though, so they can only likely keep two of Brooks, Wilson and Lloyd.

Receivers

  • Romeo Doubs: 48 (2 SPT)
  • Jayden Reed: 41
  • Dontayvion Wicks: 27
  • Christian Watson: 25
  • Matthew Golden: 22
  • CB Bo Melton: 9 (9 SPT)

Before Christian Watson went down with his chest injury, the outside receivers for the Packers were Watson and Romeo Doubs, primarily, and Jayden Reed filled the role of the slot receiver. Dontayvion Wicks seems to be earning a couple of more reps than first-round rookie Matthew Golden, despite Golden actually leading the team in receiving in this game.

Tight Ends

  • John FitzPatrick: 43 (6 SPT)
  • Luke Musgrave: 33 (1 SPT)
  • Josh Whyle: 2

Another player added to the injury list today was tight end Josh Whyle, who left the game in the first quarter with a concussion. If he isn’t able to go next week against the Chicago Bears, the Packers will have to end up elevating one of their two practice squad tight ends: McCallan Castles or Drake Dabney.

The team continues to oscillate between John FitzPatrick and Luke Musgrave as their “TE1.” This has been normal since Tucker Kraft went down with his ACL tear against the Carolina Panthers.

Offensive Linemen

  • Rasheed Walker: 63 (6 SPT)
  • Aaron Banks: 63 (6 SPT)
  • Sean Rhyan: 63 (6 SPT)
  • Anthony Belton: 63 (6 SPT)
  • Darian Kinnard: 40 (6 SPT)
  • Zach Tom: 25 (2 SPT)
  • Jordan Morgan: 0 (6 SPT)
  • Jacob Monk: 0 (6 SPT)
