Fans are split on who will win on Sunday, but not on what position the Packers should focus on most heavily this offseason.

The 2024 NFL season finally comes to a close this Sunday with Super Bowl LIX between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. The two teams will meet for the second time in three seasons in the biggest game of the year, which will decide whether the Chiefs accomplish the NFL’s first three-peat in nearly six decades or if the Eagles get their second Super Bowl trophy and fifth NFL title overall.

30 of the league’s 32 teams are already moving on to offseason mode, however, with the Green Bay Packers among them. Before we look ahead to the national feeling on this weekend’s Super Bowl, let’s examine where the Packers’ focus should lie in the next few months.

In this week’s Reacts surveys, Acme Packing Company asked our readers to tell us which position group should be the biggest priority for general manager Brian Gutekunst and company this spring. In fact, one position got a clear majority of the responses, with cornerback getting a whopping 54 percent of the vote. Defensive line was a clear second place at 26%, with wideout and offensive line trailing behind. Here are the full results:

Let us know in the comments if you agree with the majority here or if you feel strongly about a different position being a bigger need.

The point spread picks are coming in with 51% on the Eagles to cover and 49% on Kansas City, reflecting the expectation that this will be a close, competitive game.

The books are expecting this weekend’s game to be a lower-scoring contest than the previous Super Bowl matchup between these two teams. Two years ago, Kansas City won 38-35 in one of the highest-scoring Super Bowls in history with 73 total points scored. This year, however, the books have the over/under total set at just 48.5 points.

While that number is fairly close to the average number for an NFL game, there are reasons to swing in either direction for Sunday. First, each team has an elite defense, with the Eagles ranking in the top two in both yards and points allowed and the Chiefs coming in as a top-ten unit by both measures. But then again, each team has an offense capable of explosive plays and...
