Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love explains where things stand between him and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
There are a ton of storylines heading into the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Sunday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. However, none are bigger than Rodgers playing his former team and the quarterback that replaced him.
That very quarterback, Jordan Love, recently shared where things stand between him and Rodgers.
“A lot of it is just saying good luck throughout the season,” Love said via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “We got a great relationship.”
Jordan Love says he and Aaron Rodgers still talk every now and then.

That may be surprising to hear for some, given how Rodgers exited Green Bay. He was not shy in expressing his dissatisfaction in the Packers selecting Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
However, Rodgers did go on to start three more years in Green Bay before he was eventually traded to the New York Jets in 2023.
The 41-year-old has also been very open to mentoring the Steelers’ younger players like rookie quarterback Will Howard.
“Will’s a good kid,” Rodgers said during the summer. “Got to talk a little bit. I thought he did really well today. He seems pretty bright. [The game’s] not too big for him. He got through progressions really well. I’m gonna be with him every single day and every single meeting. Found my seat next to him in the offensive meeting… I’m gonna help him out as much as I can.”
It seems that may have been the exact mindset Rodgers had with Love on the Packers, but it was just less of a storyline then.
Either way, it’s unlikely Love is going to get a “good luck” text or call this week from Rodgers as he looks to etch himself into NFL history.
With a win against the Packers on Sunday night, Rodgers will become just the fifth quarterback on the all-time list of quarterbacks to beat all 32 NFL teams, joining Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Drew Brees.
Love is happy to see Rodgers still playing, though.
“I was excited for A-Rod,” Love said when asked about Rodgers signing with the Steelers. “I was excited for him that he was going to keep playing. It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be awesome. I’m excited for it. I can’t wait to be on different sides meeting up and I know we’ll talk pregame and things like that and hopefully we can exchange jerseys after.”
