The Packers next opponents need no introduction. Everyone knows how the story of the 2024 Eagles season ended: with a blowout win in the Super Bowl over the best team in the last 10 years that capped off a 14–3 regular season. They were one of the league’s most complete teams, showing few weaknesses across any phase of the game.
Behind strong leadership, elite roster construction, and effective game planning on both offense and defense, the Eagles reclaimed their spot atop the NFC and made a deep playoff run that ended with another Lombardi Trophy.
Offensively, the Eagles carefully blended explosive plays through the air with a bruising ground attack that wore defenses down. Jalen Hurts orchestrated one of his most efficient seasons, supported by an elite offensive line that consistently created clean pockets and running lanes.
The Eagles ranked inside the top ten in both overall offensive EPA and passing EPA per play, and they finished among the league leaders in scoring. In passing EPA, they finished 8th overall. In rushing EPA, they finished 1st overall on the back of Saquon Barkley.
Defensively, under the leadership of Vic Fangio, the Eagles dominated opponents with suffocating coverage and relentless pressure from their front seven. They finished 3rd overall in defensive EPA per play (3rd versus the pass, 2nd versus the run).
In the Super Bowl, their defense’s ability to create turnovers and short fields proved vital throughout their postseason run.
The Packers faced the Eagles twice last season, both starting and ending their season with them. In week 1 of 2024 in Brazil, the Packers narrowly lost 34-29.
The two teams met again in the 2024 NFL Playoffs wildcard round in Philadelphia where the Eagles picked off Jordan Love three times en route to a 22-10 win to send Green Bay home. Now on a Monday in the middle of the 2025 season, the two teams meet again.
