Green Bay goes Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen in the first round of our 5.0 mock
In the first edition of our Mock Draft 5.0 voting, the fans here at Acme Packing Company selected Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen as the Green Bay Packers’ first-round pick. Through five of these mock draft simulations, the Packers have selected a defensive tackle every single time: Nolen twice and Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon three times.
At this point, it’s safe to say that Green Bay fans are expecting a defensive tackle to be the pick with the 23rd overall selection, which makes sense considering the volume of defensive tackles who are expected to be selected around the range that the Packers are picking in the first round. Since we ran our voting, news broke that Green Bay actually brought in Nolen on a pre-draft visit, which will only tie his name to the club even tighter.
Now that the first round is out of the way, it’s time to dive into the second round, using the Pro Football Network mock draft simulator. But first, let’s revisit how previous draft simulations have panned out for us:
Below are the top players available, according to PFN, with the Packers on the clock with their original second-round selection:
The player who receives the comment with the most “rec”s in the comment section below will be awarded to the Packers. We’ll move on to the third round on Wednesday. You can sign up for our comment section with THIS link.
