The Green Bay Packers are set to kick off Week 2 with a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders. Luckily, the Packers will host the visiting Commanders, fresh off their Week 1 27-13 win over the visiting Detroit Lions. Ahead of the matchup, Green Bay stud edge rusher Micah Parsons was listed on Wednesday’s injury report along with three other contributors. NFL insider Tom Pelissero shared via X (formerly Twitter) that Parsons is still nursing a back injury.
“#Packers DE Micah Parsons (back), RT Zach Tom (oblique), LG Aaron Banks (ankle/groin) and CB Nate Hobbs (knee) are officially listed as questionable for Thursday night’s game vs. #Commanders,” posted Pelissero. “Parsons also was listed as questionable last week and played on a limited basis.”
While Parsons is listed on the report, it’s more than likely he’ll play against the Commanders on Thursday night. After all, he’s intimately familiar with the team because the All-Pro has faced Washington twice a season since his career started with the Dallas Cowboys. The Commanders’ head coach is Dan Quinn, Parsons’ former defensive coordinator. Even if Parsons can go, the other three injuries are not to be understated. Particularly, the statuses of Tom and Banks. Will Green Bay be at full strength to kick off Week 2, or will the Packers feel the sting of their potential missing players?
