The Green Bay Packers are hoping to take another step forward in 2026 after losing in brutal fashion in the Wild Card round against the Chicago Bears this past season. The Packers played that game without Micah Parsons, who suffered a torn ACL injury against the Denver Broncos earlier in the year, ending his season.

Recently, the Packers got a critical update on Parsons’ recovery process as the 2026 season approaches.

“Five months into his ACL rehab, Micah Parsons said he has four more months to go, saying that they have a strict nine-month rule especially for players who had more than just the ACL tear, revealing that he also had a meniscus procedure,” reported Rob Demovsky of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

Parsons also spoke on his goal for the upcoming 2026 season.

“The goal for me is to complete the season … the goal has always been playoffs,” he said, per Demovsky.

The Packers were viewed by many as the favorites to come out of the NFC when they traded for Parsons just prior to the start of last season, and they got more people on the bandwagon when they started out the season with dominant wins over the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders.

However, neither Washington nor Detroit turned out to be a playoff team in the 2025 season, and the Packers started to show signs of struggle as the season wore on, with quarterback Jordan Love missing time, and Parsons ultimately going down with the ACL injury, ending any realistic chance that Green Bay had of contending for a Super Bowl.

With Parsons’ recovery seemingly going well, the stars are aligning for the Packers to be able to hop back into the mix in the NFC in the upcoming season.
