On Saturday evening, the Green Bay Packers’ 2025 season came to an end with an ugly loss at the hands of the divisional rival Chicago Bears in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. The Packers led this game 21-3 at halftime, but ultimately fell by a final score of 31-27 after a listless second half on both sides of the ball.
It may be hard to remember now, but the Packers did show some resilience this year in fighting through numerous injuries, including to star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who went down with a torn ACL toward the end of the season.
Recently, the Packers got a positive update on Parsons’ status heading into next season during their 2026 exit interviews.
“Micah Parsons said he wants to be ready for Week 1. Realistically, he expects a Week 3 return,” reported Matt Schneidman of The Athletic on X, formerly Twitter.
Green Bay fans would certainly be thrilled to get Parsons back at any point early on in the 2026 season after he tore his ACL during a road loss to the Denver Broncos this year. The Packers went out and acquired Parsons just a week before the 2025 season began in a deal with the Dallas Cowboys, and he mostly produced at a star level in his first season in Green Bay before going down with the injury.
Parsons wasn’t the only key injury that the Packers dealt with this year, as quarterback Jordan Love and many others also missed time due to various ailments.
However, that won’t make Saturday’s choke job against the Bears any easier to swallow, with questions now running rampant about what the future may hold for Packers head coach Matt LaFleur after his latest playoff collapse.
Still, if Parsons is indeed back in the mix early on next season, the Packers figure to return one of the most talented rosters in the NFL.
