Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was recently arrested for an alleged domestic violence dispute in late May. He’s back with his team participating in mandatory minicamp after being released from a Brown County, Wisconsin jail while police investigate the alleged incident. With off-the-field issues clouding the offseason for Jacobs, head coach Matt LaFleur appears to be impressed with how the star rusher is handling everything.
While talking with media members on Tuesday after practice, LaFleur praised Jacobs for being a leader at minicamp amid the ongoing investigation, according to Cameron Ezeir of WFRV Local 5 Sports Green Bay. It appears the 28-year-old ball carrier is putting all of his focus on football right now.
“It’s been great to have him around,” said LaFleur about Jacobs. “He shows up every day with the same attitude and same mentality, and I would expect nothing other than that.”

Josh Jacobs faces five different charges, with one of them being a felony. However, police have not formally charged the seven-year veteran with any crimes, as the investigation is underway. The five potential charges include strangulation and suffocation (felony), battery (domestic abuse), disorderly conduct (domestic abuse), criminal damage to property (domestic abuse), and intimidation of a victim.
Jacobs played 15 out of 17 games last season, missing two contests due to a knee injury. He was rather efficient despite failing to surpass the 1,000-yard mark for just the third time in his career. Jacobs ended the 2025-26 campaign with 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. He also added 282 receiving yards for one more score through the air.
