Sean Duggan will get to coach a projected top-100 pick at the event

The East-West Shrine Bowl has announced their coaching staffs for this year’s edition of their college all-star game. Starting in a week, two members of the Green Bay Packers’ coaching roster will get hands-on experience with some 2025 draft prospects. These coaches will almost certainly be able to relay some recommendations or cautions about these players to the front office and the coaching staff.

Eddie Gordon, who is currently serving as a Packers assistant offensive line coach, will be one of two offensive line coaches for the East squad. Gordon actually has prior experience with the projected top offensive lineman on the East team, Xavier Truss, because of their time together at Georgia. Gordon served as an offensive line grad assistant and offensive quality control coach for the Bulldogs from 2019 through 2022. After that, he spent a year as UAB’s offensive line coach before jumping to the NFL level.

Beyond Truss, there are three other players who are expected to be drafted from the East’s offensive line, according to the consensus draft board: Minnesota’s Tyler Cooper and Oregon State’s duo of Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan and Joshua Gray.

Below is the full list of offensive linemen that Gordon will work with. The numbers signify a player’s rank on the consensus draft board.

  • Xavier Truss, Georgia (#192)
  • Tyler Cooper, Minnesota (#221)
  • Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan, Oregon State (#235)
  • Joshua Gray, Oregon State (#251)
  • Bryce Cabeldue, Kansas
  • Gareth Warren, Lindenwood
  • Thomas Perry, Middlebury
  • Aidan Williams, Minnesota-Duluth
  • Dalton Cooper, Oklahoma State
  • Esa Pole, Washington State
  • Joe Huber, Wisconsin

Sean Duggan, who is serving as a defensive assistant for the Packers, will be an off-ball linebacker coach for the East squad. Duggan, a Boston College graduate, was a former linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator under Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley at Boston College before Hafley made the jump to the pros last year.

One of the biggest names in the entire event, Ole Miss linebacker Chris Paul Jr., is going to be part of Duggan’s responsibility in Frisco, Texas. At the moment, the consensus draft board has Paul ranked as the fourth-best linebacker in the entire class, if you consider Georgia’s Jalon Walker an edge rusher, which most analysts do.

No, Paul isn’t related to the NBA’s Chris Paul. You aren’t that old, yet. The Arkansas transfer was able to record second-team All-SEC honors last year, his first in Ole Miss’ system.

Below are all the players that Duggan is slated to coach at the Shrine Bowl:

  • Chris Paul Jr., Ole Miss (#99)
  • Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Kentucky (#156)
  • Francisco Mauigoa, Miami (#210)
  • Deshawn Pace, UCF
  • Kain Medrano, UCLA
  • Carson Bruener, Washington
