The Green Bay Packers will be facing the Chicago Bears, and there is a chance that they could have one of their key receivers for the matchup. Christian Watson was a limited participant in practice after suffering an injury against the Denver Broncos, and it sounds like he plans on playing this week.
“It’s feeling pretty good for everything considered, so I think it’ll be alright for the game … we’re at the point in the season where you gotta fight through some stuff, so should be good,” Watson said.
Head coach Matt LaFleur noted that Watson is fighting to play against the Bears, and it seems to be a pain tolerance thing with him on whether he can suit up or not.
“He’s fighting to play, for sure, ultimately, it’s going through the process and seeing where he’s at. He’s got to prove it,” LaFleur said.
Watson fell hard on his left shoulder against the Denver Broncos and needed a precautionary CT scan on his injury afterward. If Watson can practice in the coming days, there’s a good chance that he’ll suit up and play. If he has to miss time, those chances may be slim for him to get back on the field.
If Watson does have to miss time, the Packers should still be in good shape, as they’ve shown this season that they have a plethora of options at receiver. At the same time, they’ve been dealing with injuries at the position and lost one of their biggest targets earlier in the season in Tucker Kraft.
Jordan Love has shown the ability to make plays with whoever is on the field, and he still has Josh Jacobs to lean on in the running game.
If Watson is able to play, it will be a big boost to their offense, as they are in a battle for the division with the Bears.
