Both the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears held walkthroughs on Tuesday, so the first day of this week’s official injury report is just an estimation. On the Packers’ end, head coach Matt LaFleur stated earlier today that the team listened to the advice of their medical staff and decided to have a walkthrough, as the first practice of the week was moved up because of the Saturday kickoff date. Green Bay will have a full padded practice, which they’re allowed one per week during the postseason, on Wednesday, LaFleur confirmed.
So, who is healthy to play for the Packers? Let’s get into the injury report and some of the nuggets that LaFleur has dropped over the last couple of days.
Before practice on Tuesday, Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur said that he expects quarterback Malik Willis and right tackle Zach Tom to be available to play on Saturday, but that receiver Dontayvion Wicks hasn’t cleared the concussion protocol. He didn’t give updates on receiver/cornerback Bo Melton or safety Javon Bullard, the two players who dropped out in Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings, but both Bullard and LaFleur said the safety was “okay” after the game.
For the most part, the Packers have purged their injured players over the last week or so. It only took about 30 roster moves to do it.
What’s left of the 2025 Green Bay Packers should be relatively healthy going into the postseason. The only injuries to really pay attention to are Melton and Bullard, whether Wicks passes the protocol and if linebacker Nick Niemann is actually brought up to the 53-man roster to play special teams (if not, Jamon Johnson is likely to be elevated from the practice squad).
For those of you who don’t have intimate knowledge of the Bears’ depth chart, here’s a couple of things to watch out for this week.
At left tackle, the starter, at least recently, has been Ozzy Trapilo (limited), a rookie second-round pick who missed Week 18’s game with a knee/quad designation. The knee designation has now been dropped. A possible backup for Trapilo is Braxon Jones (full), who started the season as the team’s starting left tackle, and was designated to return from the injured reserve today.
The other position that is most concerning for Chicago right now is the nickel spot, as starter C.J. Gadner-Johnson (DNP) suffered a concussion last week. The next man up, when healthy, would be Kyler Gordon (limited), who was also designated to return from the injured reserve on Tuesday after dealing with a groin injury that he suffered in a pre-game warmup. After those two, the NEXT next man up is Nick McCloud (full), who is dealing with an illness.
The receiver room for the Bears has been banged up as of late. Jahdae Walker (DNP), who caught the game-tying catch against the Packers with 24 seconds left in Green Bay’s loss in Chicago, is also ill. D.J....
