The Cincinnati Bengals are dealing with the absence of two starters at Wednesday’s practice, as Orlando Brown Jr. and Myles Murphy missed practice.
Brown has not been reported to have any injury, so it could be a rest day for him.
Regardless, Cody Ford was taking the reps with the first-team at left tackle. Ford has been involved in the battle for the right guard with Lucas Patrick, but the Bengals clearly still value him as a swing tackle.
Brown will be a name to keep an eye on as the practice week continues, ahead of Monday night’s preseason matchup against the Washington Commanders. Starters are expected to play, so Brown will be a player to watch leading up to the contest.
Defensive end Myles Murphy also missed practice on Wednesday after limping off the field during Tuesday’s practice.
Murphy being out opens the door for Shemar Stewart to potentially see more time with the starters, but with Joseph Ossai also working his way back from injury, the Bengals’ defensive end room is looking thin, as Trey Hendrickson is still involved in a hold-in.
These are just a couple of names to keep an eye on as the week progresses.
