Jalen Milroe is in rarefied company with his speed rating.
With the 2025 NFL season quickly approaching, so is the release of EA Sports’ Madden NFL 26. The latest edition of Madden is set to release on August 14th. With that release date just over two weeks away, EA Sports has slowly started rolling out player ratings. With player ratings, it is always fun to point out how outrageous some ratings may be, whether high or low. Well that won’t stop this year.
Madden started out the ratings rollout with their “99 club.” Those being the players in the game who received the highest rating a player can get, 99. Notably no Seahawks made the list. However, today EA Sports released rookie ratings, including nearly all of the Seahawks rookies. The ratings are listed from highest to lowest below.
- Grey Zabel, 75 Overall
- Nick Emmanwori, 74 Overall
- Tory Horton, 71 Overall
- Damien Martinez, 70 Overall
- Elijah Arroyo, 68 Overall
- Rylie Mills, 68 Overall
- Ricky White III, 67 Overall
- Bryce Cabeldue, 66 Overall
- Robbie Ouzts, 66 Overall
- Jalen Milroe, 65 Overall
- Mason Richman, 63 Overall
- Federico Maranges, 61 Overall
- Jared Ivey, 59 Overall
The first thing to note is that these are all lower ratings. This is not uncommon with rookies in Madden. Even some of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft have low ratings. (Cam Ward, quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, has a 72-overall rating. Travis Hunter, cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, received an 84-overall rating as a corner. This author is curious as to what Hunter’s wide receiver ranking will be.)
However, despite the low ratings, some of the Seahawks rookie ratings still stand out. For example, Nick Emmanwori received a higher 75-rating, despite being a second-round pick. Additionally, Damien Martinez, who earned a 70-overall rating despite not being drafted until the 7th round. Another fun note, with only the 99-club and rookies being rated, Robbie Ouzts is currently the only fullback with a madden rating.
Another thing of note, despite Jalen Milroe only having a 65-overall rating, he has a blazing 93 overall speed rating. This speed rating is good for the second fastest speed rating for a quarterback in the NFL, only behind Lamar Jackson who has a 96 overall speed rating.
Lastly, only two undrafted free agent rookies made the initial Madden rookie ratings. Surely more versions will come out that include other players. However, it is interesting that the two UDFAs in the initial ratings are Federico Maranges and Jared Ivey. Ivey is one of the more highly touted UDFA signings by Seattle, while Maranges has flown under the radar. Other notable UDFA signings who are not in the initial Madden rookie ratings are cornerback Isas Waxter and wide receiver Tyrone Broden. Of course, if either of those guys make their presence felt, and make the 53-man roster, Madden will need to include them in the next update.
Surely, this...
