Fans attending the Chicago Bears’ home game against the Cleveland Browns at Soldier Field will want to wear extra layers of clothing.
The Bears are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, one that dropped them from the NFC’s top seed to the No. 7 seed. They’ll try to retain their playoff position when Shedeur Sanders and the Browns come to town on Sunday.
Caleb Williams vs. Shedeur Sanders carries plenty of anticipation. However, the two quarterbacks will face some challenging conditions to navigate for the 1:00 p.m. EST contest.
According to AccuWeather, Sunday’s forecast in the Windy City is -12 °C, with 32 km/h wind gusts in the afternoon. The evening forecast calls for -15 °C with 28 km/h and 84% humidity.
In other words, dress warm, Chicago Bears fans.
It’ll be interesting to see how Ben Johnson’s Bears rebound from Sunday’s tough loss to the archrival Packers. Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur made his postgame handshake with Johnson short and sweet, adding more fuel to the rivalry.
The Bears have a horrendous schedule over their final three weeks: vs. Green Bay, at San Francisco, and vs. the Detroit Lions. The 49ers and Lions are in the wild-card mix as well, so the Bears cannot afford to lose both those games.
Facing three dangerous opponents to close out the year, Chicago cannot afford to lose at home to the 3-10 Browns. The 49ers have a win virtually assured with the 2-11 Tennessee Titans coming to town.
If the Lions and Packers lose their gams to the Los Angeles Rams and Denver Broncos on Sunday, respectively, it’ll significantly help Chicago’s chances of making the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
