Odell Beckham Jr. needed to get something off his mind.
A fake Adam Schefter account on Twitter (X) named “Adam Schelfer” posted that Odell was retiring after 10 seasons. The post gained enough traction that the receiver decided to respond himself.
“After 10 seasons in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. has decided to retire,” the account, which goes by @AdamSche1fer, wrote. “Beckham Jr. played for the Giants, Browns, Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins. He announced Tuesday.”
More than 2.5 million people have seen the tweet.
The three-time Pro Bowler set the record straight with a reply to the post, saying “LOL WTF… when was that announced and by who? That’s funny, appreciate the concerns, but this Shxt ain’t over yet.”
Soon afterwards, Odell Beckham Jr. doubled down, writing “Not done yet… thanks for hr concerns and have a blessed day.”
Then he tripled down, “No seriously,” Beckham wrote on the platform.
“Plz stop reading everything on the internet, and stop texting me happy retirement b4 u piss me off. That will get no response. I promise u the day I’m done I will let u kno. Again if u text me happy retirement im just gon have to block u. Thanks.”

The former New York Giants superstar and Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl champion signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins in May 2024.
However, by December, he found himself agreeing to part ways with the organization.
Beckham had an incredibly brief stint with the Dolphins in 2024. He was signed that offseason to become a reliable third option, but had trouble filling in under head coach Mike McDaniel.
Odell is only 32 years old, but is without a job after playing nine games and catching nine passes for 55 yards with the Dolphins last season.
We won’t truly know if he is back until he gets on the field and is not injured.
If Beckham doesn’t land with another team and calls it quits for real, he’ll have finished with 575 catches, 7,987 receiving yards, 59 touchdowns, and a Super Bowl ring.
