A curious item from OJ Simpson’s collection could be up for sale in an inbound auction following the former NFL running back’s death.
Simpson has been gone for nearly a year now but remains in the news as various developments have emerged since his passing last April.
While Simpson was one of the best running backs in college and NFL history, he will be remembered for going on trial for the murders of his ex-wife and her friend. The former RB was acquitted on all charges in 1995 but still spent several years in prison for robbery thereafter.
A Nevada judge has approved an auction for some of OJ’s belongings, with a fraction of the earnings expected to go to the family of Ron Goldman.
According to TMZ, one of those items could be a Bible Simpson received from Rob Kardashian while he was in jail. The Bible is said to include a personal message telling Simpson how much God loves him.
Per TMZ:
“O.J.’s estate is planning to include the Bible in the proposed auction, which we reported on earlier this month — Malcolm told us his team is proposing an auction between March 12 and March 29.
“However … the auction — which will be run by Goldin Auctions LLC, according to the new legal filing — can be objected to by Simpson’s children before February 26.”
Apart from the Bible, a painting of OJ Simpson done by Andy Warhol could also be available for sale, as well as some photos from his movies, ‘The Naked Gun’ and ‘The Cassandra Crossing.’
