Gregg Rosenthal formally apologized to Lions’ star running back Jahmyr Gibbs for an awful past take.
When you talk about football everyday like Gregg Rosenthal, writer at NFL.com and host of “NFL Daily,” you are going to be wrong here and there. Similar to Greg, you can be right a good portion of the time, and yet, people will only really remember the times when you were dead wrong. And unfortunately for Gregg, back in April of 2023, he had one of those takes that will live in infamy for quite a while.
“The difference between David Montgomery/Jahmyr Gibbs and Jamaal Williams/D’Andre Swift is not large,” tweeted Rosenthal.
The Detroit Lions had recently drafted Gibbs at 12th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, and many people had some strong opinions on the overall direction the team went in the first round of the draft.
However, since then Rosenthal has admitted his mistake, and during his time spent in New Orleans for pre-Super Bowl festivities, he was able to formally apologize for his terrible take to Gibbs and David Montgomery in person.
If you want to watch the segment with both Gibbs and fellow running back David Montgomery, you can watch it right here on Rosenthal’s YouTube Channel, “NFL Daily with Gregg Rosenthal.”

Waymo love at the Pro Bowl. We love to see it.
Even more evidence that Gibbs had a truly special season in 2024. Super. Star.
I really hope Montgomery is able to finish out his career as a Lion.
