Mile High Report
For once, our SBNation Reacts poll had a wide range of opinions, and based on the comments, it’s pretty surprising that the top choice ended up being “Wide Receiver 4” as the most interesting position battle to watch.
While almost half of the voters chose this one (frankly this was my choice too), all the other choices got a spread of the votes, and commenters seemed to prefer either the third linebacker position or “who would replace JFM” (which was a solid suggestion…see below)!
The good thing about this poll — and its choices — is that it reflects a solid list of returning starters at just about every position, so the camp “battles” are more about depth and future potential for this team.
And the interesting thing about the poll winner is which player is WR4? Or even WR3 and WR5? After Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr. is probably the third best, but Troy Franklin could really find his groove again with his college QB, and Pat Bryant seems poised for a big leap in year two.
Plus, for a position like wide receiver, it almost doesn’t matter if you’re listed as No. 3, 4 or 5 on the depth chart because probably everyone is getting a turn at some point in the game.
Now to get to the question of JFM’s replacement…
Eyioma Uwazurike seems like the leading candidate to take the starting defensive end spot following a 2025 campaign where he recorded 39 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Rookie Tyler Onyedim just might be impressive enough to grab that position early, and second-year Sai’vion Jones has a good shot as well. And then there’s a chance that Malcolm Roach could see defensive end snaps rather than just maintaining his interior role alongside D.J. Jones.
So who you got?
