Tyreek Hill claims that he is prepared to race Noah Lyles as soon as next week. However, the world’s fastest man has yet to line up against the NFL wide receiver despite their ongoing beef, which dates back to August.
They cannot agree to terms.
Hill, 30, started this whole thing right after the Olympics. Lyles won the 100-meter event in Paris but the 27-year-old failed to complete the sweep and finished third in the 200 due to a respiratory illness.
Just a few days later, Hill claimed that he could would beat the gold medalist in a race.
Noah Lyles can’t say nothing after what just happened to him and then he wants to pretend that he sick, I feel that’s like horse radish, so for him to say that we’re not world champions of our sport, it’s like cmon bro, just speak about what you know about and that’s track […]
I would beat Noah Lyles […] I won’t beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles.
— Tyreek Hill
As could be expected, Lyles mocked his challenger and feigned ignorance. He pretended that he did not know the name of “the cheetah guy from football” and called Hill out for chasing clout.
That was back in August. Nothing came from the war of words. They did not race. In fact, neither guy brought it up again — until Sunday.
Noah Lyles pulled out a note to troll Tyreek Hill after winning his fourth-straight 60-meter final at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. It said that “Tyreek could never.”
Hill does not agree with that sentiment and spoke about his lack of respect for Lyles during an appearance on Up & Adams. Although he respects the superstar sprinter’s efforts to grow the sport of Track and Field, he does not understand why they have yet to race. The five-time first-team All-Pro claims that the three-time Olympic medalist continues to duck his challenge with all kinds of stipulations.
Hill also said that Lyles’ race was staged, which goes to show that “he’s not racing real people.”
Lyles clapped right back at the outrageous claim.
You know the best thing about being the Worlds Fastest man is. I actually win my races by myself against Everyone!
This ain’t NFL we don’t follow a script.Run the Gauntlet!!
— Noah Lyles on X
Needless to say, there is no love lost between these two. Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles continue to keep each other’s names in their mouths but they won’t line up and race. The former claims that is the fault of the latter. Maybe one day?
