This is the top moment from the Super Bowl mic’d up. Here’s Nick Sirianni telling Kellen Moore to “just call” the DeVonta Smith bomb, mashed up with The Philly Special:

“Yeah let’s do it.”

“Just call it.”

2 of the most iconic calls in Eagles history.

Honestly not trying to compare the two, but this goes just as hard as “you want Philly Philly? / yeah let’s do it.” Why? Because of the killer instinct predicating each play. The Philly Special will go down as one of the ballsiest calls ever, considering the down, distance, game situation, and risk in execution. Who runs a reverse toss to the QB on 4th and goal in the Super Bowl, up three just before halftime? Nick Foles and Doug Pederson, that’s who.

In Super Bowl 59, “just call it” has much lower leverage because the Birds were up 27-0 at the end of the third quarter, but the decision to throw a first-down bomb after a turnover on downs is a dagger-like move. They could have easily started running the ball to grind more clock, and gone conservatively into the fourth quarter. Instead, they went ultra-aggressive and had Jalen Hurts air it out for DeVonta Smith. Pretty cool to see the decisiveness from the head coach and the OC.

Saquon knew it was a TD the moment the ball left Hurts’ hand:
