The New England Patriots are not only expected to win, but win big on “Thursday Night Football.”
New England enters the primetime game as a 13-point favorite over the New York Jets, the largest line of the Week 11 slate. The Athletic’s Vic Tafur picked the Patriots to cover the double-digit spread.
“There is no value in laying all those points with the Patriots, but they have taken care of business against dregs like the Titans and Browns,” Tafur wrote. “Mike Vrabel can do no wrong.”
Tafur is also excited to see more of his “favorite rookie running back.” TreVeyon Henderson scored 55- and 69-yard touchdowns in a breakthrough performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the second-round pick should receive plenty more reps with Rhamondre Stevenson ruled out for Thursday night.
The Patriots have attained their last two victories over the Atlanta Falcons and Buccaneers by a combined six points. However, they previously throttled the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns by 18 and 19 points, respectively.
New England also ran away with a 42-13 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, so Vrabel’s squad could secure another blowout against a vulnerable opponent. The Jets moved defensive stars Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams before the trade deadline and lost top wide receiver Garrett Wilson to a knee injury.
The Patriots haven’t defeated the Jets by more than seven points since Mac Jones led a 54-13 onslaught in Week 7 of the 2022 season. Drake Maye could restore the AFC East feud to a one-sided affair starting on Thursday night.
Prime Video will exclusively stream the Patriots-Jets matchup, which starts at 8:15 p.m. ET.
