The New England Patriots had an opportunity to acquire a genuine pass rusher at the NFL trade deadline on Nov. 4, but didn’t get a deal done.

New England is likely to seek a pass rusher this offseason, and Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay proposed a trade idea that could bring the Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett to the Patriots.

Kay proposed that the Browns would give up Garrett, and Cleveland would receive the 2026 1st-Round Pick, 2026 3rd-Round Pick, 2027 1st-Round Pick and 2027 3rd-Round Pick.

“With over $64 million in projected cap space for the 2026 campaign and 11 picks in the upcoming draft, the Pats can comfortably make a run at Garrett when the new league year begins,” Kay wrote on Tuesday.

“It may take four Day 1 and 2 picks — which are set to fall near the end of the round — spread across the next two drafts to get the job done, but Garrett would have a transformational effect on New England’s defense and a real opportunity to win a ring.”

Garrett signed a four-year, $160 million extension this offseason, ensuring that the Patriots would have him under contract until 2031 if they decided to trade for him.

The 29-year-old pass rusher faced New England on Oct. 26 and sacked quarterback Drake Maye five times. It would be nice for the Patriots to have Garrett on their side moving forward.
