The New England Patriots (4-2) are one of the NFL’s biggest stories through six weeks of the 2025 season.
Quarterback Drake Maye is playing like an MVP candidate, head coach Mike Vrabel has made a triumphant return to the sidelines and the team is likely to be a buyer at the trade deadline.
A host of media outlets released their NFL Week 7 power rankings on Tuesday, and the Patriots have cracked the top 10 on at least two of them.
Pro Football Talk has New England at No. 10, up from 14th entering Week 6.
“It took a while, but they’re back in control of the AFC East,” Mike Florio wrote.
CBS Sports, meanwhile, lists the Patriots at No. 9, which is up from ninth last week.
“Mike Vrabel has done a nice job with this team, and Drake Maye is growing into a franchise quarterback. They are 4-2 and a real threat to the Bills,” Pete Prisco said.
The only AFC teams placed ahead of New England (on both lists) are the Denver Broncos (4-2), Indianapolis Colts (5-1) and Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1).
