For the last two weeks there’s been a constant argument going in my head. In case you forgot, two weeks ago the Texans beat the Ravens comfortably 44-10. It was the kind of game we’ve been dreaming of all season. All phases of the ball looked good. But what was it? Is it because the Texans are starting to develop as a team and the offensive line finally showed some kind of cohesion which kept C.J. Stroud upright for most of the game? Or is it because they were playing against a severely injured Baltimore Ravens team that was missing enough important parts to it that they’d struggle against anyone, let alone the Texans?
I think tonight’s game will go a long way to answering that question. If the Texans can hold up against a vicious pass rush like the Seahawks have and keep it close against a resurgent team, then there might be some reason for hope. Until then, I’ve seen this team show promise one week and completely fall on their face the next week so I’ll reserve judgment until the ride home, for I will be at tonight’s game.
It’s a prime time game, so all the world (at least all the world that can stay awake at 9 p.m. tonight.
Oh, yeah, there was another MNF game before this one. Whatever. This is the game that matters.
