In neglecting to remember we needed an open thread early for tonight’s action, let this brief intro serve as your entry way to tonight’s Monday Night Football doubleheader. First up it’s the Detroit Lions versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In terms of Buffalo Bills rooting interests, we’re team Tampa tonight. It’s never fun rooting against the Lions, at least not when they play anyone other than Buffalo. That said, a Bucs win helps the Bills’ strength of schedule tie-breaker scenario should it come into play in seeding for the AFC playoff bracket.
Later, it’s the Seattle Seahawks hosting the Houston Texans, and this one’s easy, right? Always root for the NFC team that’s playing an AFC team, no? Not tonight. Again, it’s that strength of schedule factor at play, where a Texans win helps Buffalo’s SOS.
With that, here’s your open thread for all of tonight’s action on Monday Night Football. Of course, this is also a great space to talk all things football — tonight’s games, or otherwise… including the Bills.
