Buffalo Rumblings
Week 17 of NFL action gets started this afternoon, with a trio of games that once held a lot of playoff intrigue. The reality is that football fans could be in for a long day of play featuring plenty of also-rans.
First up it’s the Dallas Cowboys against the Washington Commanders. For many, this could be the one time of the season you actually get to see the Cowboys, since they’re so rarely featured in spotlight games. At 6-8-1, Dallas has nothing to play for other than Jerry Jones’ amusement — something the Commanders hope to spoil this afternoon.
At 4:30 p.m. EST, The 8-7 Detroit Lions take on the 7-8 Minnesota Vikings. The Lions still have the smallest of chances to make the playoffs, but they’ll need to win out and also have the Green Bay Packers lose out the rest of the way. As for Minnesota, well… there’s always next year.
In primetime, the 12-3 Denver Broncos are flying high, and set to play Krampus to the playoff-eliminated Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs aren’t likely to fare too well in this one, not with quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew both out of commission due to knee injuries.
With that, here’s your open thread for all of today’s Christmas Day football action. As always, be kind to one another — and in all things… Go Bills!
