Welcome to the New York Giants betting angle, Week 17 edition. Each week, I’m giving you my three favorite wagers for that week’s New York Giants game. My one rule: I won’t ever give you wagers that are less than -120. No gimmies here.
It’s rare for the teams with the two worst records to meet this late in the season, but here we are. New York travels to Las Vegas this week to face the Raiders. The teams are both 2-13 and the loser of this game will be sitting in the pole position for the first pick in the 2026 Draft – always a valuable commodity. That dynamic adds to the difficulty in handicapping a game between two teams that have seen their seasons go from bad to worse.
Many fans of both teams will be rooting for a loss, but NFL players and coaches are performing for their livelihood and don’t think that way. So let’s not expect any in-game tanking. The Raiders have already ruled out their two best players, however, in TE Brock Bowers and DE Maxx Crosby. Is that suspicious? I don’t know how injured either player actually is, but Bowers has been battling a knee injury for the entire season. For their part, the Giants will be without LT Andrew Thomas (hamstring).
The Raiders almost beat the Texans last week, while the Giants fell at home 16-13 to the Vikings, despite knocking out Minnesota’s starting quarterback. The Giants had 13 net passing yards, didn’t score an offensive touchdown against Minnesota’s aggressive defense, and aren’t playing good football right now. Recent results for both teams make this game even harder to handicap.
The line on FanDuel is NYG -1.5, with a game total of 40.5. A 2-13 team being favored on the road? That might be a first. You know what I won’t be doing? Picking the spread, the Moneyline, or the total. This game is the very definition of a stay-away. I’ll pick some props but I don’t have a lot of conviction this week.
My picks were 2-1 each of the last two weeks. I’ll try to give out more winners this week.
Here are this week’s picks. All lines and odds are from FanDuel and are as of Friday, December 26.
