Windy City Gridiron
There are some early Week 16 odds available from our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook, and they have the Chicago Bears as a 2.5-point underdog over the Green Bay Packers for their big divisional showdown on Saturday night, December 20, at Soldier Field. FanDuel has the point total over/under at 46.5, with the moneyline for the Bears at +112 and for the Packers at -132.
Earlier today, the Bears blew out the Cleveland Browns, 31 to 3, while the Packers lost to the Denver Broncos, 34 to 26, and for now, the Bears are back in first place of the NFC North. Much like their meeting two weeks ago at Lambeau, when the Packers won 28-21, Saturday’s rematch will see the winner take over the division lead. That game opened with the Packers as a 5.5-point favorite, and on game day, it was up to 6.5 points.
The Packers lost more than just the game in Denver, as All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons is believed to have torn his ACL. Green Bay wide receiver Christian Watson also left the game with a chest injury, which necessitated a trip to the hospital in an ambulance.
The Bears lost rookie wideout Luther Burden III to an ankle injury in their game that will be evaluated this week, and receiver Rome Odunze was scratched before kickoff after his foot didn’t feel right during pregame warmups.
If Green Bay’s injury fears are confirmed, this line may move off the Bears +2.5, so if you like the Bears getting points at home, you may want to jump on this one.
