Windy City Gridiron
The Chicago Bears and the New York Giants will meet for Week 10 on Sunday, November 9, at Noon (CT) from the Windy City, and right now, our partners at FanDuel Sportsbook have the home team as a 3.5-point favorite. The point total over/under for the game is 48.5, and considering the (5-3) Bears and the (2-7) Giants have defenses that rank in the bottom third of the league, that number may be a bit low.
Earlier today, the Bears won a shoot-out aganst the Cincinnati Bengals, 47 to 42, while the Giants lost to the San Francisco 49ers, 34 to 24.
With rookie running back Cam Skattebo and second-year receiver Makil Nabors both injured, the Giants lean heavily on rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Against the ‘Niners, he passed for 191 yards and two touchdowns, and he ran for 56 yards with another score. In his five starts since taking over for Russel Wilson, Dart has 984 yards passing, eight touchdowns, three interceptions, a passer rating of 90.8, and has been sacked 17 times. He has also rushed for 195 yards in those five games with another four TDs.
The Bears have won five of their last six games, and since their Week 5 bye, the rushing offense has averaged 186.5 yards per game, including a season-high 283 earlier today in Cincinnati. Chicago’s offense has seemingly found its identity, and the Giants are susceptible to a strong ground game.
What are your thoughts on the early line for this game? Do you like the Bears to win, giving up the 3.5 points? What about the over/under?
