The 2025 NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday, November 4 and we’ve already seen one deal go down in advance of the Week 9 matchups. A domino effect is likely to follow, with a few notable NFL trade candidatespotentially on the move in the next few days.
Let’s dive into our NFL trade deadline predictions ahead of Week 9.
With Jakobi Meyers a free agent at the end of the season, it doesn’t make a ton of sense for the Las Vegas Raiders to keep him and then wait for a compensatory pick in the 2027 NFL Draft when he walks in free agency. Instead, the best path toward turning this offense around long-term is moving Meyers now for a pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Now that the New York Giants are without both Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo for the remainder of the season, they need someone who can help Jaxson Dart. Meyers would have a chance to be the No. 1 receiver in New York, and his route-running would position him to get open quickly, providing a go-to target for Dart in Brian Daboll’s offense. The Giants get a short-term boost to improve the supporting cast around Dart, and Las Vegas moves up a few rounds in the draft.

New Orleans Saints wide receivers Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Brandin Cooks have all appeared in NFL trade rumors over the last week. Realistically, Olave is the most likely to stay, as he’s reportedly in contract extension talks with the Saints, which could make Shaheed expendable. Given recent reports that the Denver Broncos are in the market for a wide receiver, a deal between Sean Payton and his former team makes sense.
Although Payton wasn’t in New Orleans when the Saints signed Shaheed as an undrafted free agent, he has strong connections within the organization and will know those who can vouch for Shaheed’s ability. Stepping into Denver’s offense, Shaheed would have a path to being the team’s No. 2 receiver and a valuable offensive weapon thanks to Payton’s play-calling. New Orleans could look to reclaim a third-round pick in 2026, which they previously traded away.
One theme with our NFL trade deadline predictions is connecting players to organizations or coaches they have a history with. In this case, trading linebacker Logan Wilson to the Indianapolis Colts. Wilson lost his place in the Cincinnati Bengals defense, getting replaced by two rookies. Since he’s requested a trade out of Cincinnati, it would be reasonable for the organization to trade him since they won’t move Trey Hendrickson.
