The Cleveland Browns have already made six trades since near the end of NFL training camps. From dealing away QB Kenny Pickett and DT Jowon Briggs to this week sending out QB Joe Flacco and swapping CB Greg Newsome II for CB Tyson Campbell, GM Andrew Berry has been busy. While the rebuild strategy is “working out” as planned, that doesn’t mean the Browns are done making moves.
According to a report, Cleveland fans should expect more trades before the November 4th NFL trade deadline.
Unlike the “tear it down” style rebuilds of the past, this Browns rebuild is not just looking to get rid of talent. Instead, the team is balancing keeping quality players for 2026 and beyond while adding assets to help do that as well. Like Flacco and Newsome, that will likely lead to trades of players in the final years of their deal and heading to NFL free agency.
Cleveland’s roster has a load of players that fit that bill. A few of them would have value if the Browns made them available for trade. Narrowing it down to 10 was a little tough but, in no certain order, here are a few players in the final year of their contract that could see rumors fly around as we head toward the NFL trade deadline:
- OL Joel Bitonio – Much like Joe Thomas, this only happens if Bitonio wants to be moved for, perhaps, his final season in the NFL
- OL Wyatt Teller – The player that could bring back the biggest return, having Teven Jenkins and Zak Zinter on the depth chart could allow both guards to be traded
- TE David Njoku – An interesting case where his value might be higher somewhere else where he is getting more targets and asked to block/chip less
- OT Jack Conklin – While injuries are one reason Conklin may not be dealt, Cleveland’s lack of depth options behind him may be a bigger one
- C Ethan Pocic – Like the guard spot, Luke Wypler gives Cleveland an option if they deal Pocic
- DT Shelby Harris – The OBR wrote up how the Browns adjusted Harris’ contract this offseason, making him a more palatable trade option
- DE Alex Wright – Wright has played well but has only been on the field 36% of the defensive snaps this year in a strong rotation. His size and upside make him an extension candidate if he isn’t traded
- RB Jerome Ford – Like Flacco, Cleveland fans probably laugh at the idea of getting something for Ford, but veteran backs who do well as blockers as pass catchers have value for top teams, even if it’s a late round pick
- DE Joe Tryon-Shoyinka – Brought in via free agency, leading to Ogbo Okoronkwo’s release, he’s played a total of 22 snaps on defense but could help a 3-4 style unit for a late round selection
- LB Devin Bush – Having what looks like...
