Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett believes the Dallas Cowboys need to stop playing around and show Micah Parsons all the money. Because he believes he deserves every single cent of a big pay raise.
The Cowboys have handed out some handsome raises to stars like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb in recent years. Yet, they keep playing with fire when it comes to the best player on their team, Micah Parsons. For months, the two sides have haggled over what could be the richest contract for a defensive player in NFL history. Yet have not gotten close on a deal.
With the sackmaster in the final year of his pact, Dallas risks losing him on the open market the longer negotiations stretch out. This week, DLLS Sports reporter Abby Jones asked four-time first-team All-Pro Myles Garrett about his thoughts on stalled contract talks. And after training with Parsons in the past, the current highest-paid player on defense believes the Cowboys star has earned possibly making more than him in a new deal.
Myles Garrett’s contract set the market for non-quarterbacks.
I asked him what he thinks Micah Parsons deserves from the Dallas Cowboys:

“I think he deserves whatever he’s earned. The guy’s special,” Garrett said. “Once I got the chance to train with him. I’ve seen his work ethic. I’ve seen how he attacks the weights, running. He’s 100% committed to his craft and getting better every day. He has that level of dedication to the game. He should get every penny he’s owed.”
Parsons will make just over $24 million in the final year of his rookie deal. Most projections suggest the Cowboys will need to pay him anywhere between $175 and $205 million, or over $40 million per season, to hold on to their top star. His next deal from Dallas or another team will likely make him the new highest-paid player on defense in the NFL.
