NFL free agent defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is figures poorer after he revealed on his Instagram story that he was robbed of his $400,000 Richard Mille watch while at a Hollywood, Florida nightclub on Saturday evening.
Pierre-Paul is speaking out after claiming that his $400,000 Richard Mille watch was stolen while he attended an exclusive Formula 1 party at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood’s DAER nightclub.
Pierre-Paul stated he has since filed a police report, and TMZ Sports also confirmed an investigation has been opened.
Pierre-Paul said he was enjoying an F1 weekend in Miami and headed to the DAER Nightclub after attending the qualifying session on Saturday.
“I had gone to the club to support my friend Joey, who manages the VIP area,” Jason Pierre-Paul wrote in part.
“As we stepped out of VIP to check out the dance floor, we immediately realized it was way too packed to move through. As we turned to head back, a group of people began surrounding us and closing in on us, making it difficult to get by.”
That is when things went terribly wrong.
“I instantly got a bad feeling and instinctively checked my pockets—my phone and wallet were still there. I didn’t even think to check my wrist,” JPP said.
“Once we got back in VIP, somebody casually asked me for the time. That’s what I noticed—my $400,000 Richard Mille watch was gone, stolen right off my wrist without me noticing.
We rushed out to the spot where we’ve been surrounded to look for the watch, and that’s when I recognize two of the same guys from before. I gave them a look, and they immediately took off, running into the crowd.”
Jason Pierre-Paul then said that security was “completely unhelpful” and a responding police officer was “shockingly rude and dismissive.”
He then added that another woman was “targeted and robbed” for her Richard Mille watch by the same group as well.
Unfortunately, it will be quite hard for police to find the perpetrators as this likely happens constantly.
Jason Pierre-Paul might be 36, but he is still looking to get back into the league.
The former New York Giants edge rusher went unsigned for the 2024 season.
In an X post in August, JPP not only made it clear he’d like to play in 2024 but also stated he would take a team to the Super Bowl. No team came calling for his services.
The 36-year-old Pierre-Paul appeared in just three games in the 2023 season, splitting time between the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins. He recorded two tackles.
It’s clear that JPP is on the downside of his career and much closer to retirement than anything else, but he’s looking to go out in a big way.
The three-time Pro Bowler has appeared in 182 career games, recording 631 tackles, 167 QB hits, 94.5 sacks, 21 forced fumbles, 66 passes defensed, five...
