Former Cleveland Browns standout offensive lineman Jedrick Wills reportedly plans to sit out the 2025 season to rest a serious knee injury.

Jedrick Wills, the No. 10 pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, is one of the biggest names still available on the free agent market. But according to a report from Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Wills “is planning to sit most or possibly all of” 2025 to nurse his knee injury.

Schultz added that multiple clubs have “interest” in Wills, but he believes resting his knee in 2025 is the right decision for his long-term future.

Wills was limited to eight games in 2024 after suffering a sprained MCL. An ongoing knee issue limited Wills to five game appearances in 2024, and the Browns opted not to re-sign him after his five-year rookie deal expired.

Sources: Free agent OT Jedrick Wills, who dealt with a lingering knee injury last season, is planning to sit out most — or possibly all — of the upcoming season to fully recover and get back to 100%.

Cleveland rebuilt its offensive line in the 2020 offseason after Baker Mayfield took a beating in his sophomore 2019 season. They signed former Tennessee Titans star Jack Conklin in free agency and drafted Jedrick Wills 10th overall, and the makeover paid major dividends.

The Browns finished 11-5 and reached the postseason for the first time since 2002. They went on to stun the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round, the franchise’s first playoff win since 1994.

Jedrick Wills Should Have Plenty Of Interest In 2026 Free Agency

Wills appeared in 58 games over his five seasons with the Browns (57 starts). They made the playoffs twice (2020 and 2023), and Nick Chubb enjoyed three 1,000-yard seasons (2020 to 2022) with Wills blocking for him.

He never reached Pro Bowl or All-Pro status in Cleveland, but Wills was above-average and would be a useful addition to any team looking to upgrade its pass protection unit. So expect there to be considerable interest when he’s ready to play again.
