If you need some heartwarming news to brighten your day, allow New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and his new wife, Ann Michael Hudson, to do the honors.

Drake Maye and Ann Michael Hudson, who have been together since 2015, tied the knot two weeks ago. They were showered with generous wedding gifts from their loved ones, but decided to donate them in a generous act of kindness.

During Tuesday’s episode of “Zolak & Bertrand” on 98.5 The Sports Hub, Scott Zolak reported that the Patriots’ signal-caller and Hudson donated their wedding gifts to local kids shelters and the homeless:

“So the wedding gifts. He didn’t tell anybody, and he had this supposed deal with his current wife that—they did a lot of donating with the local kids shelters and stuff for the area he grew up and some kids didn’t have (the right) size shoes, didn’t have some Christmas stuff—they didn’t tell anybody, but they took their wedding gifts and sent them to the homeless and help centers down there…Everything that they got. They forwarded it.”

What can we say? The world needs more people like Drake Maye. And it’s not like he’s as loaded as other professional athletes, having just signed his four-year rookie deal worth $36.6 million last year.

After pulling the plug on the disappointing Mac Jones era, the Patriots used the No. 3 pick of 2024 on the North Carolina QB.

Maye started his rookie year on the bench, but eventually replaced Jacoby Brissett and showed some flashes with 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions to go along with 421 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

The Patriots will kick off their 2025 season against the Las Vegas Raiders. That game may as well be called the “Tom Brady Bowl,” as the seven-time Super Bowl champion is now part-owner of the Raiders.

Drake Maye Is In A Good Position To Breakout In 2025

The Patriots spent plenty of assets rebuilding the offense around Maye. They selected promising LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell fourth overall and used a pair of day-two picks on Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson and Washington State wide receiver Kyle Williams.

Having also signed All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs, former Buffalo Bills WR Mack Hollins and offensive linemen Garrett Bradbury and Morgan Moses, the pieces are there for Drake Maye to have a breakout sophomore season.
