Trey Hendrickson is now playing hardball.
The Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher won’t be at mandatory minicamp this week.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Hendrickson and the Bengals “have made no progress on a multiyear contract extension,” and he isn’t expected at camp as the staring contest continues.

Hendrickson is heading into the final year of his contract and wants a raise from the $16 million he’s scheduled to make during the 2025 season.
Skipping minicamp will cost him some money in the short term as the Bengals will fine him $105,000, but he’s hoping to put the pressure on and get the kind of long-term deal he’s looking for.
Trey Hendrickson not showing up doesn’t really come as a surprise after the very public back-and-forth between him and the team recently. He’s threatened holdouts in past years, only to show up for training camp in the summer. That makes next month far more interesting to watch, with so much more at stake.
While both Chase and Higgins have since inked lucrative extensions, Hendrickson remains without a new deal. He wants to get his worth as well.
Hendrickson has recorded 17.5 sacks in each of the past two seasons.
Trey Hendrickson wants a new deal.
Hendrickson has made it clear he won’t play this coming season, the final year of his contract, and that was cemented further by not appearing for the first mandatory workout of the season.
According to The Athletic, the Bengals did contact Henderson’s camp on Monday, but there was no movement toward a new deal.
Cincinnati hasn’t seemed all that inclined to shop Hendrickson, but there also doesn’t appear to have been tons of progress made on a potential deal.
That could lead to a massive trade just before the 2025 season.
